Yesterday all Ty's went to the library to get a talk on local history with Mr.Doohan. We learned all about the history of Celbridge.
I am normally not the biggest fan of history but found the talk really interesting. He talked about Castletown house, Celbridge village, the history of St.wolstans(my school) and the workhouse.
I never realised how historic Celbridge is and didnt realise that Castletown house was the first house build of stone in the whole of Ireland :o
I really enjoyed the talk and the fact that most interested me and one that i will definately remember is that a man from Celbridge named New York City !

Now i realise why Celbridge really is a historic town!

Who'd have thought we'd fall in love at the abbey?

On the morning of Wednesday the 19th, all the fódlians headed into town on our mini bus, followed by the other Ty classes on another bus. Us fódlians started our day at the national library, then went to a museum to see bog bodies and after that went to a WB Yeates exhibition. Then we were let loose around Grafton street to get some lunch. We went to McDonalds to get some long awaited food :)
In the stevens green shopping centre i saw Bob from faircity :o and stalked him for a while! But the day had a lot more to come..
At ten to 2 , all the Ty's met up and went to see the play Juno and the Paycock in the Abbey theatre. At two o'clock the curtains drew back and we all instantly fell in love with Ronan Raftery, the actor who has the part of Johnny in the play!:') The play was amazing until, about fifteen minutes from the end, IRA men came into the house, took Johnny away and shot him :( I grabbed Emily's hand and was close to tears
After the curtains we're drawn and the actors came out to bow, everyone started clapping and i stood up followed by everyone else..
It really was a great day and thanks to the english teachers for organising the trip! :)

Blog action day

Well it's blog action day today, so bloggers all over the world are blogging about food.

I've decided to write how much i love vegetables. They're colourful, cute and good for you, so whats not to love about them ?(: I think my favourite vegetables are carrots, and my least favourite are tomatoes. I hate them with a passion, and couldnt eat one even if i was paid. Most other vegetables are great though!

About a week ago Kate told me about a book called Scarlett Bean, it's a childrens book about vegetables, and is what made me want to write this food blog about veg, so thanks Kate for your inspiration!:)

Educating Essex

For anti-bullying week in school we watched an episode of Educating essex in religion. In it there was a girl called Gaby being bullied. When she become elected as head girl people turned against her. She got a threatening text from her friend in the year below her (chloe) and chloe's older sister. She didnt know who send it and it was reported to the school prinicpal mr.drew, he then investigated it and chloe and her sister got in alot of trouble. In the end it was all sorted out :-)
Also in the episode a boy called Sam was being accused of bullying a boy called Dean. They used to be friends but Dean began to get on Sam's nerves because he was always hugging Sam's girlfriend. Deans mam and sister came into the school to talk to the principal.
Watching educating essex really showed us how serious bullying is but we also enjoyed watching it, so thanks Mrs.L for showing it to us:)

Projects, projects, projects

Everyone says that TY is full of projects and its true, it really is! We have projects in nearly every subject. Tonight i've to work on a small project about fashion era's for home ec, we also have a bigger home ec project where we are given a t-shirt and a pair of jeans we have to create are own outfit from scratch. My group are doing a charlie and the chocolate factory themed dress, which was good fun to design but is proving slightly harder to make! Our young scientist projects were submitted yesterday, so all we have to do now is wait and see if we got in.. As well as these, we also have projects in irish and geography. In english we have to create three moodboards, one for each act in Juno and The Paycock. Ms Cosgrove said she doesnt beleive in long projects because everyone just does it the night before its due anyway, and yes she's right, i've to do all three of them today and they need to be in for tomorrrow! It's not too bad though, i'd happily pick projects over ordinary school work anyday ! :-)

Fódla fun!

Well we're now in our second month of TY and Fódla have deffinately bonded really well, and everyone in the class seems to love it(: I think the fun walk is really getting us to work together as part of a team , as we all want to win ! Today we got off religion and music to practise with Ms. O'C. Our dance is finished so its all practisin from now till Friday! Cant wait to do it now for the rest of the school and hopefully we'll win:D
